Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA) announced that it has appointed Jim Sanduski as vice president of strategic product marketing. Sanduski, a 20-year industry veteran, joins Sharp after most recently working at Panasonic Consumer Electronics as sales senior vice president.

Trilithic has named Mark Darragh as its new product manager for leakage systems, responsible for further developing the company's leakage product portfolio. Trilithic also announced it has appointed John Bush as senior systems sales engineer within the broadband instruments group.
Wadia Digital has tapped Jeff Haagenstad as general manager. Haagenstad brings experience as technical manager at 3M, Novar, Niles Audio and Sonance.

Legrand has appointed Fritz Werder as vice president and brand general manager of its Home Systems division. The move is part of several organizational shifts the company announced. Also, VP of sales Bob Fallert's role will expand beyond distribution to include retail and e-commerce segments; Dave Hanchette, VP of marketing, will join the Vantage brand as VP of international business development to help Vantage expand its market opportunities.
Trilithic has named Daniel Dillon as director of product marketing for its Mobile Systems Applications niche within the company's Broadband Instruments division. Dillon has been with Trilithic since 2006, serving as a technical writer and product coordinator.
Women in CE has announced its third annual Legacy Awards recipients, to be honored during the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas. The honorees are: Maureen Jenson, editor-in-chief, Custom Retailer; Kirsten Cook, executive vice president and managing director, BDS Mktg.; Denise Gibson, former BrightStar U.S. president; Jeannette Howe, executive director, Specialty Electronics Nationwide; and Tricia Nystrom, senior merchant, Magnolia. Honeywell has appointed Scott Harkins to lead Honeywell Security Group's products business in the Americas. Harkins joined Honeywell in 1995 and has overseen the company's video surveillance and access control divisions during the past three years.

Premier Mounts has announced the return of CEO Len Dozier, who plans to have a much stronger role in the day-to-day operations of the company. Lee Dodson, who was brought in to "re-position Premier Mounts from a retail focused mount manufacturer to a major player in the pro A/V market," has completed his role and is moving on with other endeavors after two years at Premier, the company says.

Joe Liguori has been elected president of Security-Net's board of directors, and will begin his two-year term in January 2012. "As the new president of the Security-Net board of directors, my priorities will be to strengthen our national account relationships with vendors," said Liguori, who is executive vice president of Access Control Technologies in Clinton, N.J.
He will take over for outgoing president Tom Asp, who has held the office since 2009. Security-Net members -- a group consisting of 19 North American and four international independent systems integrators -- also elected: Jim Coleman, president of Operational Security Systems in Atlanta, as vice president; Paul Janik, president of MidCo Inc. in Burr Ridge, Ill., as secretary; and Skip Sampson, VP of Koorsen Security Technology in Indianapolis, as treasurer.

Meridian America has promoted Jeff Dean to the position of Western regional sales manager. Dean has worked for Meridian since 2008 in a strategic business development role for the company's sales and marketing teams, helping support Meridian's automotive strategies and Premium Partner Programs. Norm Steinke, who handled the Western region, will take over management of the Midwest region acting as a resource to the Eastern and Western regions, Meridian says.
Audiovox Corporation has changed its name to VOXX International Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX) to strengthen its corporate umbrella over its more than 30 global brands. "While Audiovox remains a well-known and trusted consumer brand today, it became clear that due to the expansion of our portfolio, the company, our distribution partners and our customers, would be better served with a name that better reflects our strategy and global reach," said John Shalam, chairman of the board.

Vivint has announced that Steve Dixon has joined the company as vice president of operations. Dixon will oversee logistics for Vivint's summer sales program and central monitoring station, licensing for all technicians and sales representatives, as well as data entry and contract processing functions.

Nuage Nine, developer of remote management and monitoring of home systems, has signed on three manufacturer's rep firms to expand its product penetration: LK & Associates in Florida and Puerto Rico; Zone Pacific Sales in Northern California; and ProMark Marketing in Southern California. The company also announced that Sapphire Marketing has expanded its territory coverage for Nuage Nine to include all of New England.
Home automation provider NavNet announced that Wayne Ortner has been appointed U.S. regional sales manager. Ortner joins NavNet from Powerline Control Systems, where he was national sales manager for the U.S. and Canada.

Industry veteran Geoffrey Marks has been named general manager of store operations for Mountain View, Calif.-based Audio High. Owned by Michael and Claire Silver, Audio High ranked No. 56 on this year's annual CE Pro 100 list of highest-revenue integrators, with 2010 custom residential install revenues of $3,000,000.
Marks has held sales director roles for several high-profile audio brands in his 30-plus years in the consumer electronics industry, including JBL, Cerwin-Vega, Kyocera, Denon, KEF and most recently at Velodyne. "Geoffrey's significant experience and industry knowledge in all aspects of our core competencies will be a major asset to our company," says Michael Silver.

Leja has bowed out of the distribution business to focus on marketing consulting, and Caldwell has formed a new group, Grace Motif, to distribute the former StJohn brands: Artcoustic, Cabasse, Cineversum and IMAGE screens.

ADI has named former Sixth Avenue Electronics vice president Tom Galanis as its new A/V product manager. Galanis will spearhead the distributor's efforts in the A/V space, which is a major focus in 2012. Sixth Avenue recently had its three remaining stores shuttered by court order.

Insight Home Solutions, a privately held international group focused on home electronic systems, recently acquired RAD Home Integration of Scottsdale, Ariz., and has now added Phoenix Home Theater of Fountain Hills, Ariz. In addition, Insight Home Solutions had already acquired two Canadian CE pros: Coast Sound fx near Vancouver, British Columbia, and Smart Home Systems in Calgary, Alberta.

Bret D’Agostino, son of renowned audio designer Dan D’Agostino, has launched his audio electronics company, Bully Sound Company (BSC). Bret D'Agostino is a former technical support and national sales manager for Krell. The first product to be released and shipping soon is the BSC-100m, class-A 100-watt monaural amplifier $14,750 per pair. This amplifier will be followed by a 60-watt stereo version and shortly a remote control line level preamplifier.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) board of directors has named Don Erickson as its next chief executive officer. Erickson has served as director of government relations for SIA since February 2006, working closely with SIA's leadership to build a robust government relations program for SIA members and serve as SIA's chief advocate before Congress and other government agencies.

Barry Haaser, a long-time evangelist of home technology standards, has been named administrator for the EIS Alliance, a nonprofit for suppliers and users of energy management systems and smart grid technologies.
The EIS (Energy Information Standards) Alliance works to educate policymakers, utilities, the media, the financial community and stakeholders on how energy management systems and smart grid technologies can help modernize our electricity system and provide customers with new information and options for managing their electricity use. Haaser also serves in director roles of the ApenADR Alliance, LonMark International and USNAP Alliance.
CEntrance has hired Michael Mercer as its director of marketing. Mercer will be responsible for building the CEntrance brand, a boutique design agency for many brands and manufacturer of its own audio products, in the Hi-Fi and consumer electronics channels.
The departure of Apple head of retail operations Ron Johnson became official, without a successor being named. Johnson will step into a new role as president and chief executive of J.C. Penney, following 11 years as senior VP of retail at Apple. (via AppleInsider)

Cat Fowler Toomey
Cat (Fowler) Toomey has joined URC as director of marketing. Before joining URC, Toomey was VP marketing, inside sales and customer service for Elan Home Systems for seven years. And before that, she held similar positions at AMX and Escient. Most recently, she was VP of marketing for ChaCha, the technology firm that provides on-demand answers to random questions from 32 million users per month. Fischer
Indianapolis-based sound solutions manufacturer Auralex Acoustics recently named global sales executive and marketing industry veteran David Fischer as company CEO.
Before joining Auralex, Fischer spent five years leading sales, marketing, product development, finance and operations as executive vice president of the Americas' Market division of Origins Holdings, a global manufacturer of all-wood home furnishings and cabinetry. He has also served in a variety of sales roles for Autodesk and Parametric Technology Corporation.
Sennheiser has made two key executive appointments within its U.S. and Latin American regions, completing the company’s leadership team in the Americas. Effective Jan. 1, 2012, Sennheiser veterans Greg Beebe and Markus Warlitz will move to the positions of president, Sennheiser Electronic Corporation and general manager of Sennheiser Latin America, respectively. Polk Audio announced the passing of Craig Georgi, who worked at Polk for more than 30 years before his retirement in 2008, and was the company’s first employee. He was 63.
Ben Newhall, vice president of sales and marketing for Polk, said: “On behalf of the entire Polk Audio and DEI Holdings teams, we are deeply saddened to hear of Craig’s passing, but we are equally proud of the innumerable contributions he made to both the company and the speaker industry as a whole. Norwegian projector manufacturer projectiondesign has expanded into Russia by opening a Moscow office and will have its biggest presence ever at the Integrated Systems Russia Expo. To head up the new Russian operations, projectiondesign hired industry veteran Stein Ramsli for the position of regional director, Russia and CIS. Ramsli brings experience working in the region from his job as managing director at Cisco/Tandberg Russia and PLC.
In addition, projectiondesign has hired to report to Ramsli: Andrey Mankos as business development manager; Ludmila Limanskaya as executive assistant helping with local marketing; and Grigory Eryomin as field applications engineer.
Harkness Screens has tapped Keith Watanabe as director of sales, Americas. Watanabe joins Harkness Screens with significant experience within the cinema industry, having worked for Kodak and most recently Christie Digital Systems.
Bull
Haivision Network Video has appointed Leo Bull vice president of commercial sales for the Americas. Bull recently doubled the annual CoolSign digital signage revenue for Haivision. He will be responsible for almost half of Haivision's business globally.
Previously, Bull served as vice president of worldwide sales at CoolSign. After Haivision acquired CoolSign in 2010, he remained responsible for CoolSign product sales globally and took on the task of driving the channel strategy within the non-federal sector in the United States for all Haivision products.

Wohler Technologies has hired John Terrey as vice president of inside sales and channel management. Terrey, who joins Wohler with nearly 30 years of management experience, will be responsible for improving dealer support, and proactively managing and building global distribution channels to improve performance and grow market share for Wohler's signal management and confidence monitoring products.

NanoLumens, the company behind the large-format flexible digital display technology, announced plans to relocate its world headquarters to a new 32,000-square-foot office center in Norcross, Ga., the city it has called home since its founding in 2006. The move is expected to take place Dec. 1. The new headquarters will be at: 4900 Avalon Ridge Parkway, Norcross, GA, 30071.
In conjunction with the headquarters move, the company also announced two appointments: Karen Robinson to the position of executive vice president, sales and marketing; and Dana Michaelis as vice president and general manager of advertising networks.

Visonic, a developer and manufacturer of home security and safety systems and components, has added two new North American sales managers, Rachel St. John and Bob Carrino.
St. John will manage the Central Region, with territory including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin. She comes from a family that owned a commercial integration company, and before joining Visonic St. John was regional sales manager and launched a national dealer program for an interactive video monitoring provider.
Carrino
Carrino will handle Maryland through Vermont as Northeast sales manager. His experience includes 20 years in the retail industry and 16 in the security. Carrino previously served as a manufacturer's representative for several major brands, as well as a regional sales manager for a major CCTV manufacturer before coming to Visonic.

Effective Jan. 1, 2012, John Falcone, president and CEO of Sennheiser Electronic Corporation, will be promoted to the position of vice president sales, Americas. In his new role Falcone will head business in the entire Americas region, encompassing the United States, Canada and Latin America. The U.S. subsidiary achieved record sales numbers during Falcone's 13 years of running it, the company says.
Jeff Blankensop, director of business development for Peerless-AV, has agreed to chair the Digital Signage Federation's legislative committee. “Our committee’s mission is first and foremost to advise and advocate on pieces of legislation that could potentially affect the digital signage industry and impact our members’ businesses,” he says.

Edgar Villchur, inventor of the acoustic suspension loudspeaker and co-founder of Acoustic Research with Henry Kloss, passed away Monday at his Woodstock, N.Y., home, according to the Associated Press. Villchur was 94. Along with the extensive speakers, turntables and other audio products Villchur's company became known for, he leaves a legacy that includes work that has become industry standard for hearing aids.
FDW Corp, a nationwide distributor of professional audio, video and lighting equipment, has promoted Sean Sennott to the position of vice president and general manager. Sennott previously served in only the general manager capacity, and will continue to manage daily operations and administration for the company.

Johnson
CE industry veteran Eric Johnson, perhaps best known for user interface design, has started a CE product development firm in the Seattle area called Omega Blue Group. Johnson most recently served as VP of technology for URC (Universal Remote Control) for five years.
Earlier in his A/V career he spent six years as product development manager for Niles Audio. In between, Johnson held product development roles at B&K, Energy Loudspeakers, Audioplex, Lutron and Marantz.
Atlantic Technology's president, Peter Tribeman, announced several internal changes to improve the brand's corporate visibility and impact on the market, and also to accelerate the company’s time-to-market performance with new products under development, such as H-PAS. The changes, effective immediately, are: Lawrence Davis, the company's longtime VP of sales, is now VP sales/marketing with the goal of full integration across these two key functions; Steve Feinstein, director of marketing, will have new authority and responsibilities in the area of “outside” marketing; and Joe Meisner, director of logistics and operations, will now be fully responsible for interaction with Atlantic’s suppliers and vendors, and for creating developmental schedules and timetables to maximize the efficiency of sample and prototype procurement.
Tendril, the provider of the cloud platform for the Energy Internet, announced the election of Suedeen Kelly to serve on the company’s board of directors. Kelly is an energy industry veteran and former commissioner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She serves on the Smart Grid Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the advisory council of the Women’s Council on Energy and Environment, and as a council member for the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice.

CableLabs announced that CEO Dr. Paul Liao has decided to not renew his contract when it expires in December of 2012. Liao informed the CableLabs executive committee last week in New York that he will fulfill his contract as CableLabs CEO, but has made the decision not to renew his contract due to personal reasons. The executive committee has begun the search for a new CEO, while Liao continues as president and CEO during the transition.
Olson
Channel Vision has announced the addition of Eric Olson as its Southwest Regional account executive. Olson will be responsible for serving accounts in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
With more than 15 years in the A/V industry, Olson comes to Channel Vision with experience from The SG Group, representing 16 commercial audio video manufacturers throughout Southern California and Arizona. Olson will be based out of Channel Vision’s Costa Mesa, Calif., headquarters

Bazemore
Nationwide Marketing Group announces the promotion of Bill Bazemore to vice president of Furniture. Bazemore worked as the general manager of retail operations for a company with retail stores throughout the Midwest before moving into sales and national distribution and then on to Nationwide.
He has also served as vice president of RSS, a service buying group out of Baltimore, Md. Over the past five years, Nationwide’s furniture division has doubled its sales through an increase in membership by 609 companies.
SentryNet, a fixture on Harvey Street in Greenville, Miss., for almost 25 years, announced that it will be moving its Greenville operations to Memphis, where it will reside in a 38,000-square-foot building on Sycamore View. SentryNet has 65 employees in its Greenville operations, which will close by April 1, 2012. Plans are to hire 115 in the Memphis office by December 2012.
El Cajon, Calif.-based manufacturer Current Audio has appointed social4media (s4m) as its public relations agency of record. In addition to a traditional PR role, the agency will act as a complete marketing communications arm for the company, responsible for public and media relations, social media management, global events and branding strategy.
Atlanta-based Innovolt has tapped Jeff Spence as the intelligent electronics protection company’s president and chief operating officer. Spence is tasked with extending the company’s reach, both geographically and via increased market penetration. Spence joined Innovolt in January 2011 after more than 15 years in executive and corporate development roles growing worldwide companies in the energy, finance, telecommunications and technology sectors across five continents and dozens of countries.

In response to the company's steady and continuing growth, Linear Acoustic, provider of television audio control from production to transmission, has moved its headquarters to a larger and better-appointed facility just a few miles north of its former location in Lancaster, Pa. Linear Acoustic has also added two new field application engineers for the East Coast of the United States and for Latin America. Donnelly has been involved in the electrical industry, including the residential and commercial markets, for over 30 years, including nine yeas the director of training for OnQ/Legrand.
